We’re Family

We’re the Romanos! Kris & Jenna (AKA Mom & Dad) and Juniper & Freya (AKA the Handygirls). We’ve lived in Gulf Shores, Alabama since 2014 and we’re originally from Northern Illinois and Northern Virginia. We are Smart Home Handyman - a family and Navy Veteran owned business.

We started Smart Home Handyman in 2023 when we noticed a need for more professional help in this age of home technology. The technology world was growing faster than anyone older than Gen Z could keep up with. With Kris’s 30+ years of experience in the IT world, love of helping others, and a desire to spend more time with the “Handygirls” we decided to take the plunge and Smart Home Handyman was born.

Blending the world of Home Technology and Home Repairs felt natural with how integrated smart home systems have become with the entire house. Merging Kris’s IT, home renovation, deck and fencing experience to create a full service solution for our customers felt like the obvious move. And now we call Kris the “I got a guy for that” guy.
